About

Club training takes place every Tuesday at 8pm at the Citadel Leisure Centre, Ayr. For trainees, kit is available to use, free of charge. If required, it should be collected from and returned to the club house located at Irvine, Harbourside.

Lectures are also provided weekly, as required and are delivered via Zoom. All training and lectures are provided free of charge to members.

Irvine Sub Aqua Club welcomes divers qualified by organisations other than ScotSAC.

We will assess and recognise all of the training previously completed and provide any additional ‘top up’ training required to bring you up to the appropriate ScotSAC level. This generally involves rescue drills and the use of our decompression tables. Click here to see the ScotSAC Qualified Diver Crossover table.
Air fills to 300bar are available – please see the Services page for details. These are NOT O2 clean so bring an inline filter if your tanks are O2 clean.

Try-drives
For those who have never dived, but are interested in finding out more, you can join us for a ‘try-dive’ on a Tuesday at 8pm. We will provide all the necessary sub-aqua equipment; bring your regular swimming gear, a t-shirt and £12 to cover pool costs.

Trainees are welcome every time we dive.  Most of our diving is in the Firth of Clyde, an area rich in wrecks due to the history of the Clyde as one of the busiest sea lanes in the world. There is also a wide variety of marine life due to tidal currents carrying a lot of good feeding past the colourful creatures.
We also dive further afield and more details are available on request.
